Lufthansa passengers may bring one personal item measuring up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm. This can be a small backpack, handbag or laptop bag and should be placed underneath the seat in front of you. On short- and medium-haul flights, Economy Basic fares include only this personal item as standard.
Most other fares also include one larger piece of carry-on baggage measuring up to 55 × 40 × 23 cm and weighing no more than 8 kg. Economy Basic passengers travelling on short- and medium-haul routes can purchase this allowance separately online. The larger size is ideal for a cabin suitcase, cabin backpack or spacious travel bag stored in the overhead compartment. Business and First Class passengers may be entitled to two larger pieces of carry-on baggage, depending on the route and fare.
